Department of Earth Sciences previously had two weather stations operational within the city of Gothenburg. One on the roof of the building of the Department of Earth Sciences and one on the northern bridge pillar of Älvsborgsbron. The two stations started observation in the 1990s. In 2023, observation from the northern bridge pillar of Älvsborgsbron ceased, but the previous data can be downloaded from this website. The observation from the roof of the building of the Department of Earth Sciences has been moved to the top of the new building Natrium in 2024, which is about 400 meters away from the previous location. The previous data from the roof of the building of the Department of Earth Sciences can also be downloaded from this website.
Data acquisition is made using a Campbell Scientific CR10 logger at a samplig interval of 10 seconds and an averaging period of 5 minutes. Central European time CET (UTC + 1 ) is used for the measurements (i.e. daylight saving included).
